  1. Lol. Skits, you sort of answered your own question with your query when first reading it. But as korocite and Oceanborn have subsequently discussed albeit briefly in mentioning the salient points, they've also touched upon that most intangible yet most relevant of aspects - the spirit of any undertaking, be it this project or any other venture. I'll abide by whatever the project decides although it doesn't affect me as such. But my two bit opinion on your query: from self-promoting your commissioned work, no. But from watching someone talented share and impart their skill and knowledge for our viewing pleasure and education, yes, I most definitely welcome it.

  2. I'm in two minds about it as well - if I was running the competition I would probably allow you to take part with the caveat that any prize you may receive is to be donated, but I can appreciate @korocite's perspective as well in that it feels like it isn't in the spirit of the competition

  3. That is a curly one. Technically, it is not against the rules as it is all your own work and it would be good to have you involved. The fact that you are getting paid for it by a third party feels a bit off though and probably not in the spirit of the competition. I'm interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

  4. Played my first game using my Helms Deep model on the weekend. We decided that Rohan had nowhere to run and as such passed their courage automatically after they broke. When Isengard finally broke, we called it a game and tallied some points. 20-13 with a Rohan victory. Here's some shots:

  5. Yeah, while I'd love to see the project unfold, I feel it would not be in the spirit of the comp. If you wanted to include it but not be in the running for the prize pool, I think that would be the only real option. But I'll chat with Korocite and see what we come up with.

  6. Been nearly a month since I last posted anything. Progress slowed considerably but has picked up again lately. WIP shots of work done on Baggovut's infantry corps. Found that much touching up was required due to inconsistencies in the pre-existing painting quality of the assembly. Still need to flock the Jagers but thereafter it's mostly done with the exception of no commanders and artillery. Those I will do later: priority to get all the infantry and cavalry the same consistency in presentation. Cheers. Group shot. Nearly there. Jagers were sadly underdone so spent a fair amount of time bringing them "up to speed", so to speak. Drilled holes in these thinner bases (waste by-product from 3D printing) to "plant" the flags. Doing it this way to later reuse the stands without too much hassle regarding flags. Jouineau presents an excellent series of those Russian flags present at Borodino. I've cross-referenced against Pendlebury's flags and where the two don't match, I've gone with Pendlebury. Probably incorrect but I prefer the colour palette used by Pendlebury. Once done, I will move on to Tuchkov's 3rd Infantry Corps (part of Bagration's 2nd Western Army). Cheers.

  7. Here's some WiPs of another commission I'm working on atm - a Keeper of Secrets! 😄 Just got the largest base areas of colour done atm. I've been wanting to paint this mini ever since it came out - I may have to finally take the plunge and get one of my own at some point so I can go full on crazy with it XD

  8. Krefey's project pledge. My project is going to be to try roughly replicating the 40k 9th edition trailer as a diorama. I've been planning it out already, but am yet to commence work on it. Current plan is to make a 2 x 3 foot diorama board. Replicating elements of various scenes in the trailer with the massive brawl at the end being the main focus. I anticipate needing the following: ~ 20 sisters of battle ~ 20 intercessors (rifle and ccw versions) 1 primaris captain 1 skorpekh lord ~40 Necron warriors ~ a bunch of scarab swarms ~ a couple of gaurdsmen corpses Terrain. Likely to be a mix of GW terrain, laser cut terrain and foam components. I haven't decided if I'm going to make it a full on diorama, with models pinned directly in place or if I'll be doing it so I can use the miniatures for games too. If the latter, I'll be painting the models up in my own schemes rather than the ones from the video.
