Plasman
Huh, only just learned GW revived KT and has been supporting it strongly for a while! Can anyone comment on how it plays? There's certainly an appeal for only needing a tiny force to play it.
Thenothas
It is fast paced and fun, like the box said. The rules are very different to 40Hammers, more Igo Yougo. There are (or were) some good 'google excel' sheets getting around that made team building quick and easy. Finding the balance with terrain is important, too much and you get a Genestealer in the face, not enough and rail-rifles will ruin your day. The campaign system works, start with a pool, pick the tools to do the job. Perks, nerfs and buffs happen. There are strategies and skills too that make things interesting, you can customise and optimise your mans.
Blackhearts Reaver
It is a fun little format. My local (very small store club) has responded to it. It is a quick and easy to set up and play. Start with base rules and Elite rules. Allows for more variety (units available) but don't move on to commanders until you have a good handle on the rules. Commanders are to OP. Terrain is important. Have a variety. LoS blocking, area, linear barriers (<1" tall) for the small battlefields will give you a nice balance. You can probably have a little more than a std 40K game for density but don't go overboard. Probably explore into the Mission based scenario's rather than just kill em all mission. for more enjoyment.
