Got sucked into the Forest Dragon Patreon and got myself an army of Wood Elves that need to be painted up. Was wondering if anyone here has been keeping the flame of this specialist game alive?

Also...Anybody else playing 10mm Warmaster in QLD? (Logan, Brisbane Southern Suburbs)

That looks awesome. What kind of printer do you use? I'm guessing resin? I never played Warmaster, but I am a huge sucker for old, niche games...

Definitely looks like a resin printer to me.  That looks quite nifty.

I am not based in Brisbane, but occasionally make the trip down every couple of months. I've got an Undead army I would love to take for a spin sometime. Send me a PM, and perhaps we can make something happen down the track.

I've got two resin printed WM armies coming in the mail from the UK, though I expect hope and prayers will be needed to get them in a timely and safe manner. After playing perry travelbattle I got bit hard by the "tiny army" bug, so hopefully I enjoy the rules and can convince my brother to learn with me!

I have a resin printer (distracted with 10mm ACW currently though) but have heaps of the old metal GW stuffs. Was a real sucker (still am I s'pose) but have to downsize a few armies. Tempted by Kings of War small scale and even Warhammer fantasy/historical. Am also distracted by 10mm 1066 Hastings 3D printed projects I am also working on in the background.

Have watched Ianmstanding on youtube for Warmaster reports. He's got a learner series too which is really good. A great channel for sure. Checkout the  battle from the lore/books on Finuval plains between HE and DE.

Have collected GW Warmaster on and off for nearly 20 years but never played. Also managed to get a copy of the War of the fie armies book which is pretty well the same as warmaster - eye candy for sure.

However, just for a little distraction I just picked up Perry's travel battles (8mm lol) for Napoleonic's as further proof I really cannot finish a project before starting another one.

take care out there everyone

cheers

Be sure to look up the FAQ, and the fan expanded rules "Portaloo". Just played my second game of it today with a mate, and we fought to a very exciting draw! There are certainly a lot of weird edgecases for the rules though, we had to make up a lot of things on the fly.

Thanks Plasman. I did come across Portaloo about 2 days ago (via TMP - the miniatures page and downloaded it). Have not read any of the original rules or Portaloo. Someone else said they used Blackpowder rules so a few options. I have blackpowder rules and have played a few games some time ago so that might be the way to go. Then again I also have command & Color Napoleonics so that might work too. Just need the time to be able to do it.

cheers

I had a game at PAX AUS last weekend and was really impressed with the rules. I've not played much of anything for a while, but Warmaster might just drag me back into the hobby.

*Edit* Wow, talk about threadomancy - I read the initial post date as August and missed the 2020 bit.

We have a club in Gladstone QLD that has just started playing Epic and Warmaster again

We have a club in Newcastle with a pretty active Warmaster following, too.  One of our guys is running the comp at Cancon 24.

3d printing has brought back a few of GW's 'dead' games (BFG and Warmaster, epic was pretty much kept alive by it - and without it, GW probably wouldn't have bothered redoing titanicus).
