March 11, 20215 yr https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/03/10/introducing-the-next-wave-of-warhammer-animations/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=Animations10Mar21&utm_content=Animations10Mar21&fbclid=IwAR3zETsspEAxqL9Oeg2w6WsQ1Cp89Oe3ChWJZy0HJ0YWfSgsSCCEGnUtVLg GW has partnered with some of the more successful 40k fan film animators to make some new official content. I see this as a win.
March 11, 20215 yr yeah, it's cool to see artists who are fans of the universe being recognised... I just hope they are being suitably compensated financially too.
March 11, 20215 yr Considering how poorly animated the Ultramarines film was, I suspect that hiring these independents can only result in a marked improvement in quality. Also yes, it'd be great for these people to make decent money from GW for their talent. The Astartes guy has 9k patrons, even assuming they're all on the lowest membership tier, he's still clearing something like $27,000 a month ($324,000 a year before any fees Patreon takes), so GW needs to be making sure they're paying good money for his time.
March 11, 20215 yr Author Wonder if he'll just do a mixed deal. Still keep his Patreon whilst getting that sweet sweet GW cash. The companies been doing well with general PR, so it'd be strange if they decided to mess this up by doing some poor business practices.
